Football is one of America's favorite past time but it's also deadly one.
According to WebMd a concussion is “a brain injury caused by a blow to the head or a violent shaking of the head and body.” And since football is such a contact sport it is very common. Often times athletes & coaches don't take the necessary precautions after getting a concussion; therefore, there should be stricter protocols to ensure the safety of the players.
The symptoms of young athletes include: “Brain symptoms, such as memory problems or feeling mentally "foggy." Physical symptoms, including headaches, problems with balance, or feeling dizzy. Sleep symptoms -- specifically, sleeping either more or less than they normally would.” People with concussions are more emotional and feel tired all the time. A concussion can last a couple weeks to a few months depending how severe it is. I personally think that concussion is very dangerous and we should build better protocols to keep players protected.

Forbes, an American business magazine that publishes articles on finance, industry, investing, and marketing topics, states that one concussion can lead to serious brain damage especially if they are unconscious for more than a few minutes. Whats even worse it that players often don't get the aftercare that they need, they are just eager to get back in the game. They should not play if they have a concussions and many concussions go unreported. And since sports are mostly contact sports, players can get concussions more than once. “Research shows that athletes who have repeated concussions are more likely to get long-term brain damage, including a condition known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain disease that mimics dementia.” We should create a stricter protocol if a player gets a concussion and create more rules that will protect the players.
